Personality: Stheno has a reputation for being forceful and strong willed, hence her name which means "forceful". Out of the three sisters, Stheno is the most deadly and likely to kill without reason. She holds the highest body count among her sisters that still grows to this day. Because of her transition from a beautiful maiden to a hideous monster, she has become bitter and unforgiving, but with the expansion of modern technology and evolution of mankind into the modern world, rarely kills unless provoked.
Abilities
Immortality: Being born from two primordial deities, Stheno is both ageless and nearly invincible. The only other sister to share this is her sister Euryale, as Athena's wrath wasn't concentrated directly on the two compared to the youngest, Medusa.
Brass claws: While feeding or if provoked, Stheno can produce razor sharp claws the color of polished brass, so sharp, it can slice through any metal.
Fangs: For feeding purposes, Stheno has a large set of canines that extend past her bottom lip and end in a sharp point for easy penetration. If her you don't bleed to death from her bite, you'll most likely die from the venomous poison injected into the bloodstream from her snake-like fangs.
Venomous Snakes: Like her two sisters, each of Stheno's gorgeous locks, while in her true form, is instead a venomous snake that strikes at any who get too close.
Flight: Though rarely seen with wings, Stheno has the ability to fly if she must, producing strong, black wings that extend as far down as the ground and closely resemble the wings of a bat.
Healing: Blood taken from her left side can heal any mortal ailment as well as bring back the dead, however, blood taken from her right side causes immediate death by venomous poison.
Shapeshifting: Stheno only has two forms; her humanoid form and her true form. Between the two she can revert between them with relative ease and can also form into a hybrid of the two if she doesn't wish to reveal her true form completely.
Ability Weaknesses:
Stun: Unlike her mortal sister, Medusa, Stheno along with Euryale do not have the power to turn mortals into stone with their snake-like eyes, but can temporarily petrify a person long enough to either feed or kill them.
Healing: Her healing abilities, though powerful, only extend far enough to cure or revive mortals, but nothing more.
History: Stheno, along with her sisters Euryale and Medusa, were born in the underground caverns of Mount Olympus to Ceto and Phorcys; two primordial sea deities. Stheno was the eldest and as so was tasked with watching over her sisters. As legend states, the sisters were not born as Gorgon's, but as immortal human women with divine-like beauty. When the youngest sister, Medusa, was cursed by the goddess Athena for her love affair with the sea god Poseidon, rather than Medusa taking on the curse alone, Stheno and Euryale were cursed as well when they stood by their sisters side in protest. Because of their sisterly bond, all three sisters were forced into the darkest parts of the realm where they became the monsters they are today.
The true reason for why Stheno and Euryale were spared the fate of mortality unlike their sister Medusa is unknown to the sisters, but it may be possible that even Athena's boundless wrath towards the women had its limit. Stheno and Euryale had remained true to their virtue and in essence their vow to Athena was never broken, but their devotion to their sister would not spare them from being turned as well. Stheno always believed her sister Medusa was meant to serve as a test for mortal men. Her true punishment, Stheno thought. As were most monsters fated to die in ancient times, hence her mortality. This was why the sisters swore to protect each other so, despite expecting the worst, when Medusa's fate had finally been sealed, there was no way for either of the sisters to prepare for what was to come.
Euryale was inconsolable, but mourned over her sister through cries that was carried with the winds and recorded to have been heard miles away, while Stheno, the most volatile of the three, sought only blood to mask the immense pain of losing her dear sister. But, when the sisters attempted revenge on the demi-god Perseus, they failed, only leaving Stheno is a deeper state of depression. When she couldn't avenge her sisters death by slaying the one responsible she began to take it out on anyone within range. It wasn't because of this rampage that gave her the leverage she needed to become the current Dark Fae Queen centuries later, though it certainly helped. It was her skill in remaining untouchable for so long despite the gods wrath weighing heavily upon her, sending one mortal after another to prove their worth only to die a hero's death. Her ability to strike fear in the deities thereafter was the tipping point for her ascension to the Dark Fae throne.
Though Stheno was never the most gentle of the sister, she was never considered cruel either. However, through out the centuries of dark, muggy caves, mindless slaughter, and revenge against mortal men and the gods, her mind knows nothing but pain and darkness.
