Caroline has always been the shy, quiet girl in the corner with her nose stuck in the dusty pages of an old book. Never a new one as they don't give off that 'musky old book smell' shes so used to. Just like her grandmothers spell books. Being a speed reader makes even the longest of stories a "light read" and with the newer ones they just never seem to last. Caroline has a real appreciation for anything old thanks to her upbringing and by nature has a curiosity for it-one that can quickly turn into trouble.
As sentimental to her books as she may be, nothing tops her loyalty and love for her family. Though she may always take the passive route, if someone she loved was in immediate danger, she wouldn't hesitate to risk her own life in order to save another. Some call this reckless, others consider it brave. Caroline's just sentimental that way.

Caroline was born on a stormy, Halloween night. Though most were made to believe her birthplace to be the town line where her mother was fatally killed, Caroline wasn't actually born until a few hours later. Two love birds on the run, a modern day Romeo and Juliet, a Duke and a Lockwood fled from their home in search for a new one. They, unlike most, didn't believe in the curse but knew they couldn't truly be together if they remained in the town that frowned at their bond. Just as they crossed the line however, their car was hit by a truck driver asleep at the wheel, killing both in an instant. Her twin, Caspian, was saved first by the paramedics, but when they finally got to Caroline she was pronounced dead. The paramedics believed Caspian's life was only possible because of his sister, who took the brunt force of the accident and in theory saved her brothers life before birth. As Caspian was taken to the Lockwood home, Caroline was taken in by her grandmother, the Head of Duke, and because of her Supreme status, brought Caroline back to life with Vitum Vitalis. Through all of this, the only ones who would know the truth would be the paramedics involved, sworn to secrecy, and the Head of Houses, also sworn to tell no one.
Her entire life was spent shielded by her grandmother, though she never outright complained, fearing her wrath more than any other. Because of this she was kept in the dark about her true parentage and brush with death. She was made to believe her father was a human who died when Caroline was young, leaving her in the care of her grandmother and cousins. With the exception of magic being a regular occurrence in the Duke household, Caroline grew up in a relatively normal house and grew up into a relatively normal girl. As she grew older she began to take solace in helping others and in her spare time volunteered at town festivities, the local animal shelter, and even running for student president at her school.
