A family of predominantly male witches, the Lockwoods were once an influential family in Wales and then in Salem before being driven out by the church for their affinity to magic. They are wielders of the ancient art of Weaponsmith and magical barriers and are the ones responsible for the fog barrier surrounding the town.
The Head of House during the Founding year was Cedric Lockwood, a respectable man with military honors and a servant to the Queen Majesty's Court until traveling to the New World. Despite his hardened appearance, Cedric was a generous man that always put his people before himself. There is a long standing debate on whether Cedric and the Head of Duke's love affair was based off fact or rumors designed to commemorate the two families bond, but since then rivalry has kept the families apart, the result of a "curse" that started with the unexplained death of two loved ones from each family.
