[attr="class","sern-thread-text"]The Fae are a genus of several species and sub-species of entities that predate human creation. Some are seen as tiny, winged creatures in the form of a beautiful woman while others take on a much more human like appearance, and some, like Leprechauns and Gnomes, are a variation of the two. Because of the many different types of Fae there is little similarities between the species besides a few basic weaknesses and abilities. Temperament and species-specific abilities can and have been known to vary greatly, but as a community they are a tight knit group that look out for each other and will do anything to keep their secret hidden from humans.

There are two main factions however. The two courts are hiearchies in their own right. The Seelie Court are pro-human while the Unseelie thrive on revenge and malicious intent. While the fae are split between the two, they still have a general agreement to uphold the secret of their existence from the human world. They simply disagree on the manor of which this should be done.

Certain Fae can only be found in specific areas such as lakes, ponds, forests or farmland while others mingle with humans on a day to day basis. Because of the expansion of humans on Fae territory they have been forced into hiding and are spread fairly thin but are not impossible to find with the right ingredients.
Teleportation - Fae have the ability to transport themselves to one location to the next within the blink of an eye. Not only can they teleport, they also have the ability to cross realms without the need of magical aid. They can bring others with them through the Veil, but it requires a lot of energy the more people they transport.

Summoning - With the proper incantation Fae, much like Angels and Demons, can be summoned and trapped. The strength of the binding spell is dependent on the strength of the Fae, but if skilled enough a Witch or Warlock can contain, even enslave one. But not without a price.

Glamour - With the need to blend in many Fae have developed the ability to change their appearance to mimic the appearance of a human. They cannot mimic another person or take on several persona's, but they can choose how they wish to appear, but once chosen can only retain that particular image. They do however have the ability to revert back to their true form at any time and vise versa. Even in their human forms they are said to be radiantly beautiful.

Blood Oath - All Fae are able to strike a deal under the right circumstances. Every Fae is different, but all Fae are extremely manipulative and unless you make your intentions crystal clear, they can easily turn what seems like a good deal into a very dangerous one. In order to bind the deal permanently the Fae's blood mixed with the deal maker's blood is used as the ink for the written contract. Breaking that deal usually results in death.
Iron – Iron can burn them and kill them. If you manage to stab one in the heart they will die. A cage of iron bars will trap them indefinitely.

Rowan Wood – While rowan wood does not kill Fae, wands made of this can absorb their magic to the point they cannot hold their human form, teleport or use their species-specific abilities. While not as reliable as iron, a cage of rowan can be quiet useful for temporary detainment. Handcuffs with the chain links laced with a thin, pliable twig is also an easy way to keep their magic at bay.

Shiny Objects – While not a lethal weakness, most Fae do love things that shine and they are an excellent lure or distraction.
