Just like Humans, Witches are mortal, but may prove to be more resilient when able to use their magic. The only way to block them from using magic is by use of iron chains or disabling them by disrupting their train of thought and clouding their judgement. A witch cannot perform under stress or without a clear mind to concentrate on the spell.

All magic is based upon the 4 elements. Fire, Water, Earth, Air, and their spells requiring combinations of these. All energy to power their spells are drawn from the surrounding area (Ex: Fire energy is drawn from heat and fire, earth energy can be drawn from the ground and plants, ect.) A fifth element does exist, Spirit, it is a very dangerous one however as it takes energy from the user and living creatures around them.

It's common for a witch to obtain several powers within his or her lifetime. Every ability is a part of who they are, and represent the kind of person they are as well as the type of magic they use. No one can embody all the powers available to a witch except for one individual; the Supreme.

First born witches and warlocks are believed to be the strongest and have the most potential for great power within a family, the gender varying depending on the family. First born twins, in most cases, are considered sacred as not only are there two of them, but they can also feed off each others energy to strengthen their own and are considered their strongest when together.

The Supreme is a modern term for a Salem witch who is officially recognized as the Queen of Witches. Though all witches can obtain several powers throughout their lifetime, the Supreme, shows several abilities that require little to no effort on her part-including the Seven Wonders. The Supreme in most cases is a hereditary trait, passing from mother to daughter, but in some cases it can be unpredictable and chosen at random. To be a Supreme also means you are free from disease and illness, but not exempt from aging. When a Supreme dies, whether of natural causes or not, the next in line will inherit the power upon death.
Witches/Warlocks
A Witch, the male version being a Warlock, are the mortals to possess the ability to wield magic. Have been given a bad reputation by the Witch Trials, most modern witches are the descendants of the Salem Witches; including other various religions that traveled to the New World roughly the same time, such as Voodoo, Druid, and Dark magics. Magic can be practiced in many different forms according to the individuals preference, religion, or nation; all with the potential to be used for good or evil. Some witches can harness several different abilities where as others may be gifted with one of rarity and uniqueness.[break][break]
