[attr="class","i-title"]The Old Gods
[attr="class","i-content"]Ancient gods and goddess are one of the most documented, but least understood, race of beings on the planet but are recognized worldwide for their power and immense influence over us. Every region has their own version; the Pagans, Egyptians, Greeks, and Norse just to name a few, all with their own little twist to the story. Gods and goddesses from all regions co-exist -but not without their fair share of bloodshed in an attempt to establish their religion as the "main one"- and rule their designated religion as they see fit. These deities, though old and immortal, do not rival in power with beings such as the Judaic God and Death, and did not create human existence, but did play a major part in their cultural development, and because of this are heavily dependent on the prayers and worship of humans to survive. Today the Old Gods -for example beings such as Zeus and Osiris- still remain on this plane of existence but with the rise and domination of the Christian, Catholic, Judaic and Muslim faiths their powers have been weakened, and therefore must rely on a human vessel to remain on this plane.
All deities have a unique collection of abilities that makes them into the god or goddess we view them as. Though deities of similar classifications have similar abilities, each deity has their own unique power that sets them apart from others. All deities however share common abilities such as portal creation and travel, the ability to create entire planes of existence, and the ability to grant mortals divine-like gifts, and in rare cases even create deities.
Deities are immortal. The oldest were not born, but created, though younger generations still obtain their parents immortality, depending on their parentage and circumstance, so time seems to escape them. They are, however, extremely hard to kill but not impossible. No mortal has been able to completely kill a god or goddess, only banish them, nor will they ever. Only other deities and Angels have the power to kill these beings. Deities have a common understanding and do not kill each other but there have been cases where deities have fought for power and banish the losing opponent -- ie. the Titans vs the Olympians.
Gods and Goddesses can be made vulnerable if they do not have enough followers to keep them within this plane. It is through human faith that gives them life and without it, they are nothing.
